Did you know there’s a fun pet holiday coming up? March 3rd is If Pets Had Thumbs Day! What do you think your animal companion would do if they suddenly grew opposable thumbs? A Lexington, KY vet offers a few ‘pawsible’ options below.
Raid The Fridge
It’s probably safe to say that one of the first things on your furry buddy’s agenda would be to find out what is in your fridge. And your cupboards. And your freezer.
Head Outdoors
If locked doors could no longer hold your pet in, well, it probably wouldn’t take them very long to head out for some shenanigans. Of course, Fido may stop to pick up some of his canine pals before heading to his favorite park.
Smash China
As you may know, cats have a habit of knocking things off coffee table sand countertops. Fluffy may very well take this quirky habit to the next level, and drop all of your dishes onto the floor.
Order Everything
We know, this one is a stretch, but then again, so is the idea of pets having thumbs in the first place. If Fluffy and Fido ever figured out how to order things online, you’d probably come home to find your door blocked by packages. These would of course contain things like mail-order steaks, cat furniture, tennis balls, and comfy beds, as well as a few completely random items.
Cancel Appointments
Proper veterinary care is crucial to your pet’s health and well-being. However, they may not necessarily see it that way. We do all we can to make appointments easy on our furry patients. That said, we wouldn’t be shocked if they started cancelling their appointments!
Scratch That Itch
One of your most important duties as pet parent is to dole out ear scritches and back scratches on demand. If your furry buddy figured out how to use a back scratcher, you might discover that your services are no longer needed.
Steal Your Car Keys
IF Fido could figure out the basics of driving, he would definitely head out on the highway for some doggy shenanigans. Fluffy, on the other hand, would be more likely to throw your keys away in a spot where you’d never find them again!
